I used Starry Night years ago and liked it, but later a while it appeared that they abandoned the consumer market to concentrate on schools. Based on Pettifogger'due south changelog, it hasn't been updated since 2011. Also, at that place are and then many different versions of Starry Night that it'due south hard to know which version to get. Version: half dozen.2.1

Keeps getting meliorate and better. Squeamish panoramas, swell 3D models, nice simulations. I started using Starry Dark around version 4 and by six.2.ane, it has been vastly improved. The developers are quick to sort out issues and in that location are more updates in between versions than in the past.

Updater does not work. It cannot discover the application. On one computer the application was in a binder in the Applications folder. Nix you practise to tell the updater where the awarding is works. I moved Starry Nighttime to the applications folder and it worked. But on a MacBook Pro running 10.4.11 there is zip that works to get the updater to work. Information technology constantly gives the mistake bulletin "Application Not Found" fifty-fifty though you select it in the window. It is a "stupid" updater in that it tin't even see its own application.

Version: 6.0.three

The More than Information link goes to the version five updater, and not version six. Years ago I used version iii and simply recently updated to version half dozen thanks to version 5 being on sale at the Discovery shop, and an upgrade offer to version 6 from Starry Dark. Otherwise information technology would have been too expensive for me. Although the cost can be high, I think it's really the best software of its class out in that location. Very thorough and intuitive.

This is not a bad programme, if it worked!! If you become to 'spaceshit' it will starting time to rotate and and so bombs on you. It bombs if you try to zoom in on a location, information technology bombs, bombs, bombs. I would stick with four.5; until they get the bugs worked out in version 5. It's non worth the headaches. This is with OS 10.3.vii. 4.5 is stable. Wait until they come up out with a new upgrade, maybe information technology will work, but for now don't waste your money on Pro v. I can't say for the other ones they offer.
